Thursday, Sept. 11 – FBI Salt Lake City reveals photos of the alleged Charlie Kirk gunman. 

Charlie Kirk Death Timeline

On Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 12:20 pm, Charlie Kirk attended the “Prove Me Wrong” table, part of Turning Point USA’s “American Comeback Tour. He was taking questions from students at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, when a gunshot struck him.

Shortly after the shooting, event attendees ducked for cover as police secured the scene. Two individuals were initially taken into custody in the early hours of the investigation. One was reportedly for obstruction of justice. However, authorities later confirmed that neither person was connected to the shooting and both were released.

Authorities believe the gunfire came from the rooftop of the Losee Center, positioned some distance from the event. Witnesses recalled scenes of chaos as the crowd scrambled for safety, while video from attendees and campus security cameras began circulating online quickly.

FBI Identifies New Person of Interest in Charlie Kirk Killing

Today, Salt Lake authorities released images of a “person of interest in the case, asking the public for help in identifying him. Authorities said no suspect is in custody. They recovered the weapon believed to be used (a high-powered bolt-action rifle) from a wooded area near campus. Additionally, physical evidence, such as footprints and palm prints, was also gathered.

Investigation Ongoing

The shooter remains at large, with authorities continuing their search. Investigators believe the suspect is a male of college age, though the motive has not yet been determined. The incident has already sparked widespread national and political reaction.
