Arjo Atayde Denies Ties to Flood Control Scandal, Maine Mendoza Stands by Husband
Arjo Atayde, currently the Assistant Majority Leader of the House of Representatives of the Philippines, denied involvement in the 2025 Flood Control Scandal, rejecting allegations that surfaced in the Discaya ledger, as stated in his Instagram post.

His wife, Eat Bulaga! TV host Maine-Atayde took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to refute the allegations against her husband, telling the public to refrain from throwing accusations. However, the public’s reaction was not well-received. Maine wrote:
“Teka lang muna, those are baseless allegations. Please refrain from throwing hate and personal attacks at him, including me and our family until facts come out. I am with my husband in this. Wala siyang ginagawang masama sa loob. He has been doing his best to serve the people of his district in Quezon City since the beginning. I sincerely hope and pray that the people who are TRULY responsible will be held accountable and that innocent individuals be spared from this mess. Napaka unfair.”

Earlier, Curlee Discaya — dubbed the “King and Queen of Flood Control” along with his wife, Sarah Discaya — testified at the Senate blue ribbon committee hearing, reading the list of alleged DPWH officials and politicians who had extorted them. Arjo was mentioned in the list.
As of now, no official statement has been issued regarding possible actions against the public officials and DPWH officials identified in the Discaya ledger.
