SZA and Nicki Minaj Feud: ‘All the Stars’ Pop Star Addresses Rapper’s Comment on X
Three months have passed since Nicki Minaj posted a comment about SZA, which some perceived as mocking the pop star. All the Stars singer responded to the rapper mentioning Mercury retrograde. Her last response was “I don’t give a fuck bout none of that weird shit you popping.” Since then, we have not heard or read any responses from SZA despite a series of Minaj’s posts.

In the recent GQ interview with SZA for a magazine’s cover story, published on Nov. 6, Thursday, the singer told the publication, “I don’t know her.”
“We have no connection to each other. There’s no backstory. Like, there was no through line narrative. It was just like, ‘Roc Nation’…. I don’t know where it came from. That’s not even my place to correct a narrative that I don’t got s–t to do with,” the singer continued.
She added, “It was a little strange. It was very like, ‘Why?’ But also, you know, ‘I guess.'”
What Sparked the SZA and Nicki Minaj Feud?
The feud began in mid-July 2025 after Super Bass rapper publicly called out SZA on X. Minaj wrote, “Sza if every song you’ve ever done vanished right now the music business wouldn’t even miss you. I’ve been to countries that never heard of you.”
Wait. Does Sza think she’s more successful than me? Lol yall catch me up pls. Sza if every song you’ve ever done vanished right now the music business wouldn’t even miss you. I’ve been to countries that never heard of you. I know you’re not THAT stupid are you? Stadiums? Did you… pic.twitter.com/0fKGvT1Zow

Fans and the followers of these two stars were shocked to see Minaj target SZA on the night of July 15. SZA only responded twice.
Loren Lorosa revealed on The Breakfast Club that she reached out to TDE President Punch for an explanation.
“He said, ‘Back in 2020, Nicki Minaj reached out for a SZA feature on a song.’ He responded and told Nicki Minaj that SZA was in album mode heavy and that he would get it over to her and that was it. They never spoke again. Feature didn’t happen, but he says he’s lost after that as well,” Lorosa said during a conversation at Breakfast Club.
How the “Broken Barbies” Tweet Started the Feud
The feud began after Top Dawg Entertainment president Terrence “Punch” Henderson posted the phrase “Broken Barbies” on X. The post was originally intended to promote his artist, iAmLyric’s, new single, but fans quickly associated it with Nicki Minaj’s Barbie persona and her loyal Barbz fan base. The title struck a nerve among fans who believed it mocked the rapper.
The rapper took the post personally and called out Punch for bullying her on social media. The confrontation drew attention to SZA, who is signed to Punch’s label, creating tension between the two stars. What started as a song promotion ended up sparking one of the most talked-about online feuds in July 2025.
