Converge Dominates Ookla’s Speedtest Awards, Takes Pride as Philippine’s Fastest Internet Provider
Converge ICT Solutions Inc., the leading fiber internet provider, has ruled the Ookla Speedtest Awards in the second half of 2023 as it was declared the “Fastest Internet Service Provider in the Philippines.
Ookla is the global leader in mobile and broadband network intelligence, testing applications, and related technologies. Ookla’s Speedtest Intelligence data backed that Converge’s pursuit of better customer service has helped it clinch multiple categories, bagging Best Internet Gaming Experience, Best Internet Video Experience, and Top-Rated Internet in the Philippines.

As the fastest service provider in the Philippines, Converge takes pride in its milestone of achieving 2 million subscribers.
“We didn’t really intend to be the fastest, but just to provide the best possible experience. [Being the] fastest is not the end, if you have a poor quality – you need to be in high quality, ” Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer Jesus C. Romero said.

Converge’s 4 Ways to Success
EVP and Chief Network Transformation Officer Paulo Martin Santos shared the 4 ways they achieved such success for the company.
First is the infrastructure, which focuses on reducing haps and problems that every user may experience. The second is investing in redundancies so networks will be highly available to everyone. Third is having stronger and more relevant partnerships. And fourth is investing in operations.
The operations investment includes artificial intelligence (AI) in connectivity. This helps to automate solutions for problems like internet downs, which lead to flooding with network alarms. All these alarms are automated through AI, which automates the configuration and bounces the port.
Maintaining Its Position as the Top Brand
The VP and Head of Marketing, Ma. Lourdes Ramirez shared that maintaining its position as the top brand could be done by maintaining the thought that the customers are the heart of their services – to cater to their consumers’ needs. Santos backed this up by saying that it is about investing in the Filipino people.
“We can promise, but we have done it,” Romero mentioned as he highlighted that they fulfilled every promise they had mentioned to their customers and will continue to fulfill every promise.
Future Plans
Five to ten years from now, Santos sees that they will be building and improving the infrastructure to provide the best service. He also highlighted the criticality of software partnerships.
“A continuous investment to have personalized service through investing in beyond connectivity to serve the Filipino people is still one of our top priorities,” Santos pinpointed.
