PCG Confirms 3 Filipinos Died After Foreign Commercial Vessel Rammed Boat in Scarborough Shoal
Philippines – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) confirmed on Wednesday. Sept. 4, three fishermen died in Scarborough Shoal when a foreign commercial vessel rammed their boat.
PCG added one crew member of FFB Dearyn reported that the incident occurred on Monday, Oct. 2.
According to GMA, the Filipino fishing boat was moored 85 nautical miles northwest of Scarborough Shoal, locally known as Bajo de Masinloc. Later on, it was rammed by a foreign commercial vessel.
Aftermath, the boat submerged, leading to the death of its 47-year-old captain and two crew members aged 38 and 62. All crew members are residents of Zambales province.
