Attention-Seeker Pyjama Man Who Rushed Ariana Grande at the ‘Wicked’ Premiere Gets 9 Days in Jail
A man known online as Pyjama Man has been sentenced to nine days in jail after rushing Ariana Grande during the Wicked premiere in Singapore. The incident drew widespread criticism as security personnel quickly intervened, adding to his growing list of public disruptions, which were captured on social media.
According to The Straits Times, Australian national Johnson Wen, 26, known online as Pyjama Man, admitted guilt to a public nuisance charge.
Prosecutors stated that Wen flew to Singapore on Nov. 11 using a 90-day social visit pass, intending to attend the movie premiere and spend time on holiday.
What Pyjama Man Did at the Premiere
Pyjama Man rushed toward Ariana Grande as she stepped onto the green carpet at the ‘Wicked’ premiere, immediately alarming security and nearby attendees. He pushed through the crowd without warning and moved in close to Grande before guards intercepted him. As he tried to put his arm around her, ‘Wicked’ co-star Cynthia Erivo quickly stepped between them, shielding Grande until security pulled him away. The brief disruption added to his pattern of attention-grabbing stunts that have circulated widely online.
Will This Sentence Be Enough to Make Pyjama Man Stop?
A nine-day sentence may feel light for someone who has repeatedly created scenes in public for online attention. His rush toward the Wicked star is only the newest entry in a long line of disruptions. In a previous Paper Straw Media report, the TikToker pulled similar stunts at concerts by Katy Perry, The Weeknd, and the Chainsmokers. He also uploaded videos showing himself loitering in public spaces and even throwing trash to provoke reactions. The pattern raises questions that no court ruling can fully resolve. Will this pause prompt him to reconsider his pursuit of viral attention, or will the cycle resume once he returns to social media?

If Pyjama Man ever steps foot in the Philippines, will people simply brush off his antics, or could he meet the same fate as Vitaly Zdorovetskiy, who ended up behind bars after years of escalating stunts?
