Kobra Kai Star Xolo Maridueña Joins Netflix ONE PIECE Season 3

Streaming platform Netflix confirms a new cast member to join One Piece Season 3 — it is none other than Kobra Kai star Xolo Maridueña. He will play the role of Portgas D. Ace in the new season.

In the official announcement, Netflix confirmed that the series will resume production later this year in Cape Town. The live-action series was granted an early Season 3 renewal in August.

He joins newly revealed cast member Cole Escola, the Tony Award-winning performer from Broadway’s Oh, Mary!, who takes on the role of the flamboyant assassin Bon Clay in the upcoming third season.

Who Is Portgas D. Ace in One Piece?

Portgas D. Ace is also known as “Fire Fist Ace.” He is the older brother of Monkey D. Luffy and Sabo. He is the son of Gol D. Roger, the former Pirate King, and was adopted by Monkey D. Garp. As the commander of the Whitebeard Pirates’ Second Division, Ace became known for his fiery powers granted by the Flame-Flame Fruit (Mera Mera no Mi). His strength, loyalty, and tragic fate made him one of the most beloved characters in the One Piece series.

The addition of this new character could bring even more excitement to the upcoming series. Maridueña has proven his skill in action-packed roles, particularly through his standout performance in Cobra Kai. He also starred as the lead in Blue Beetle, further showcasing his versatility. Casting him as Portgas D. Ace seems fitting, as the anime version of Ace is a fierce and charismatic pirate leader.
