BIGBANG’s G-Dragon Denies Drug Use
BIGBANG leader G-Dragon has denied using drugs. This comes after he was booked by the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency on Wednesday, October 25, for drug use.
The artist, whose real name is Kwon Ji-yong, is the latest Korean celebrity to be embroiled in a drug scandal. Most recently, actor Lee Sun-kyun from Parasite was also charged over his alleged drug use.
G-Dragon Releases Statement
According to a report by Yonhap News, G-Dragon has released an official statement on the drug accusations. The statement has been distributed by his lawyer.
In the statement, the K-Pop star asserts that he never used drugs. In addition, he said that he will willingly cooperate with the investigation being conducted by the police.
“I’ll actively and more sincerely cooperate with the police investigation since I know well that many people are worried about me,” the statement reads.
Previous Drug Allegations
It should be noted that this is not the first time that G-Dragon has been accused of drug use.
A previous incident which took place in 2011 saw the BIGBANG leader facing similar accusations. At that time, he reportedly admitted that he smoked marijuana. However, the star insisted that he was not aware that he actually consumed the substance.
Because of this, the police eventually decided to drop the investigation.
