‘The Simpsons’ Longtime Character Killed in Episode 7 of Season 37

The latest episode of The Simpsons delivers one of its most surprising turns in years. Season 37 Episode 7 takes a darker emotional route as a longtime character meets an unexpected end, shifting the tone of the story and leaving Springfield reeling. Without giving too much away, the episode blends humor with a rare sense of finality, making the loss feel heavier than typical gag-driven moments. It’s a change longtime fans will immediately feel as the consequences ripple through the rest of the cast.

How Alice Glick Dies (Spoiler Ahead)

Alice Glick’s final scene happens during a regular Sunday service at Springfield’s First Church. While Reverend Lovejoy delivers his sermon, she suddenly collapses onto the organ, leaving the entire congregation stunned. The moment is brief but poignant, and the episode doesn’t try to overemphasize it. Instead, it lets the silence in the room carry the shock, which makes her exit feel more grounded and respectful for a character who has quietly been part of the show for decades.

Who Is Alice Glick?

Alice Glick has been part of The Simpsons since the show’s early days, first appearing in the Season 2 episode “Three Men and a Comic Book.” Although she never had a major storyline, she became one of those recognizable Springfield residents who regularly appeared in church scenes, town gatherings, and background moments that longtime viewers easily recognized. Her gentle, no-nonsense personality often shone through in quick lines and visual gags, making her one of the show’s most memorable older characters, despite her limited screen time.

She is best known as the organist at Springfield’s First Church, a role that placed her in many episodes featuring Reverend Lovejoy, Marge, and other members of the congregation. For years, fans heard her voice through actress Cloris Leachman, who originally portrayed the character. After Leachman’s passing in 2021, veteran Simpsons cast member Tress MacNeille stepped in to continue voicing Alice Glick.

The character’s sudden death in Season 37 Episode 7 adds a rare sense of finality to the series, especially with the confirmation that she will not return. As The Simpsons continues to evolve, her absence becomes a subtle reminder of how even the most minor characters contribute to the heart of the show’s universe. If fans feel a bit of nostalgia over her farewell, it’s because she’s been part of Springfield’s rhythm for so long.
