Speaking of audio content, one of the famous gaming developers and the creator of Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red, has reportedly used AI to create the voice of a deceased cast member for the game — they confirmed it!

Miłogost Reczek, the Polish voice actor who voiced the character of Viktor Vektor, unfortunately passed away in 2021. The gaming developer confirmed they used AI technology to re-create the voice of the late voice actor for Cyberpunk 2077’s expansion.

The gaming publisher noted they got consent from the actor’s family before creating his voice with the help of AI. In a previous report from Bloomberg, the publisher considered replacing Reczek’s voice acting in the original game and the Phantom Liberty expansion with a new actor. For whatever reason, they did not proceed with that option.

What do you think about using AI technology to recreate the voice of a late actor? Are they going to use AI for their next projects? Share your thoughts.
