“Thought it was finally time to tell you the long-awaited question… how did I break my medal? How did I get the world’s most expensive coaster?” she said in the video.

Williams showed in the video how the bar holding the ribbon was gone. To understand the context, she also inserted a previous clip in the new video showing her swinging the medal around during the Olympic celebrations.

“Ironically, that’s not how it broke… I’m sure it didn’t help, but that’s not how it broke,” Williams insisted, admitting she’d been dancing when it happened.

The athlete admitted she had no idea how to fix the gold medal. “I don’t know if I’m going to get it fixed,” Williams said. Apparently, she already addressed the issue with the Olympic Committee (IOC).

“We are waiting to hear from the IOC, the Olympic Committee. They said I could probably get one. I had to prove to them that it was, in fact, damaged, but now we’re just waiting to see. If not, honestly, I think it’s a cool, funny story.”

Let’s wait for Williams update hoping her medal will be fixed.
