Switch Mortal Kombat 1 Patch Enhances Visuals and Performance After Player Backlash
An update for Mortal Kombat 1 on the Nintendo Switch has been released by NetherRealm Studios, with the aim of addressing performance and graphical issues. The Nintendo Switch version of the latest Mortal Kombat title had faced criticism for its poor visuals and performance, particularly in comparison to the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S versions. Game director and series creator Ed Boon had confirmed that an update would be provided to address these issues. Approximately a month after the game’s official launch on September 19, the first patch for the Nintendo Switch version has been released, addressing the problematic features.
The update not only includes improvements in visuals, performance, stability, and bug fixes but also introduces much-needed gameplay balance changes and localization fixes. Notably, the update has implemented season one of Invasions, a single-player mode featuring an RPG-style board game and challenges that were missing from the Nintendo Switch version at launch.
