‘South Park: Joining the Panderverse’ to Premiere in October on Paramount+
Paramount+ has revealed that its upcoming “South Park” exclusive event, titled “South Park: Joining the Panderverse,” is scheduled to debut on Friday, October 27 in the U.S. and Canada. It will subsequently premiere on October 28 in the U.K. and Australia, with releases in other international markets to follow.
The official logline for “Joining the Panderverse” describes the plot as follows: “Cartman’s deeply disturbing dreams portend the end of the life he knows and loves. The adults in South Park are also wrestling with their own life decisions as the advent of AI is turning their world upside down.”
The teaser for this exclusive event promises the return of “all your favorite South Park characters,” though not necessarily as they were originally known. The clip features Cartman, Kenny, Butters, and Kenny portrayed as female characters. Towards the end, Kyle engages in a conversation with PC Principal, questioning the surreal nature of the situation.
Four prior “South Park” exclusive events are already available for streaming exclusively on Paramount+. These include “South Park: Post Covid,” “South Park: Post Covid: The Return of Covid,” “South Park: The Streaming Wars,” and “South Park: The Streaming Wars Part 2.”
Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the co-creators of the series, also serve as executive producers. Anne Garefino and Frank C. Agnone II join them as executive producers. The roles of producers are filled by Eric Stough, Adrien Beard, Bruce Howell, and Vernon Chatman. Christopher Brion serves as the creative director of South Park Digital Studios.
Comedy Central has recently extended its commitment to “South Park” through 2027, which will take the series into its 30th season.
