Jonathan Majors’ MCU Role Unchanged in Loki Season 2″
Jonathan Majors faces trial this month as Loki season two premieres on Disney+, yet his position in the Marvel Cinematic Universe remains unaltered at present.
In an UpRoxx interview, Loki producer Kevin Wright addressed whether Majors’ legal troubles impacted the release of the upcoming Marvel Studios series, where he plays Kang’s variant, Victor Timely. Wright stated, “The show on-screen is the one we intended to make. Victor Timely was always integral. The story is as written and shot.” He added, “This might be the first Marvel production with no reshoots. We are confident in the story and performances. What happens afterward, we don’t know.”
When questioned about the possibility of reshooting with a different actor, Wright responded, “No, because we had already completed filming. There’s no reason to take action at this time.”
Earlier this year, Majors faced assault accusations from his former partner, resulting in legal charges. Additionally, Rolling Stone published a comprehensive report detailing abuse allegations spanning over a decade. These revelations emerged after the release of “Ant-man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” where Majors had already established himself as Kang, the next significant antagonist in the MCU. As the trial unfolds, Marvel will decide whether to continue with Majors for Kang’s future appearances.
