Jey Uso not allowed to say 'Yeet' on air.

Jey Uso is No Longer Allowed to Say ‘Yeet’ on TV Anymore

If you’ve watched Monday Night Raw or any live event of World Wrestling Entertainment, you’ve probably heard Jey Uso say “yeet.”

The term “yeet” has been a part of Uso’s vocabulary as of late. However, this past Monday Night Raw, the term was nowhere to be heard. Not only did Uso say it during the show despite using it so frequently.

If you are wondering why that is the case, it is because Uso has been banned by WWE rom using it ever again.

But what made WWE come to such a decision?

Who Really Owns the ‘Yeet’ Trademark?

According to a report by ComicBook.com, the reason why the term has been banned is because of a trademark issue. Kasey Huffman, a wrestler in the independent circuit, has owned the rights to the term since 2021.

As it is no longer possible to trademark the term for their own use, WWE is now not allowed to use “yeet” on live television. The company is likewise not allowed to use it on their merchandise.

What’s Next for Jey Uso?

Despite not being able to use “yeet” anymore, it is safe to say that Jey Uso has won the favor of the WWE Universe. Not everyone has made a successful transition from a tag team to singles competition. However, Uso has done so with flying colors.

It should be noted that Uso did not completely turn his back on tag teams since going solo. In fact, he won the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship with Cody Rhodes. The win took place during the Fastlane premium live event last October.

Most recently, the former Bloodline member unsuccessfully challenged Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship on Monday Night Raw. Where he goes from here remains to be seen, but there sure are big things up ahead for him.
