Hundreds of PlayStation Accounts Are Suspended With No Explanation! Why?
Many PlayStation Network users reported that their accounts had been permanently suspended. It is strange because there is no warning or explanation for the suspension. As of writing, Sony has not given any answer.
According to The Verge, most users reported there was a pop-up message appeared when they tried to access their accounts. The message said, “Access to PlayStation Network by this account has been permanently suspected due to violations of the PlayStation Network Terms of Service.” It is vagued because the message did not specify a violation.
User Michael Dhaliwal tweeted a screenshot of his suspension. He already reported the issue to PlayStation Network support, and here is the screenshot of his conversation:
Without any notice, @PlayStation / @AskPlayStation permanently banned me from the #PlayStation Network. No one knows why! I don’t have a chargeback, I can’t appeal & no response to suspension status. CS says to create a new account & disconnected me.#sony #psn #gaming #ps5 pic.twitter.com/YdoeHM76Iv

Apparently, he was advised to create another PSN account. Just like other users, he asked for an explanation as to why his account was banned. Unfortunately, support did “provide further commentary” and ended the chat.
Some Reddit users reported similar issues. One of them is Dangerous_Raccoon168. According to this user, they reported the issue to Sony. Just like what has been advised to Dhaliwal, they only regained access to their account by providing a new email address and resetting the password first.
Another user with the same issue said that it seems PlayStation shut down its live phone support due to growing call volume.
The issue seems unresolved because a Reddit thread created on Monday remains active, with many users reporting being locked out of their accounts.
