The statement released by Cube Entertainment, as translated by Korea JoongAng Daily, reads, “We had very long and candid talks with the Pentagon members ahead of the termination of their exclusive contracts. After the talks, we decided to end our contracts with Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok. We thank them deeply for having stuck with us through the long seven years and wish them only happiness in their years to come.”
However, it remains unclear whether these five members will also be leaving the Pentagon group, which includes Hui, Jinho, Hongseok, and Shinwon.
Pentagon initially made their debut in 2016 with a self-titled extended play but gained widespread recognition in 2018 with their hit song “Shine.” The group originally consisted of 10 members until rapper E-dawn’s departure in 2018.
In October 2022, Pentagon performed in the Philippines as part of the Hallyuween music festival held at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Apart from Pentagon, Cube Entertainment is also home to other popular K-pop groups such as BTOB, (G)I-DLE, and Lightsum.
