As previously mentioned, Chelsea suffered its third EPL loss at the hands of Aston Villa. Villa’s Ollie Watkins scored the only goal of the game in the 73rd minute.
The game also saw a total of five yellow cards as well as one red card, which was given to Chelsea’s Malo Gusto. Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson also picked up his fifth yellow card in six games. This means that the striker that he too will miss the club’s next game.
Chelsea’s Continuing Woes
Chelsea’s third loss in the current EPL season does nothing to satisfy its very frustrated fans.
As mentioned, Chelsea ranks 14th out of the 20 clubs competing in the EPL. The Pochettino-led club only has one win thus far, which is its 3-0 game against Luton Town.
The Blues has also tallied two draws in the league. The first of which is its match against Liverpool, which ranks second in the league as of writing. The other is the club’s match against Bournemouth, which ranks 17th.
Chelsea will look to finally get another win in its next outing, an EFL Cup match against Brighton & Hove Albion. Its next EPL match is against Fulham, which is scheduled for October 2.
