Champions League Update: Lazio goalkeeper Provedel overwhelms Atlético

Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel managed to score an equalizer during in injury time as his S.S. Lazio claimed a 1-1 draw with Atlético Madrid at the Stadio Olimpico.
At the opening of their Champions League Group E match, Lazio’s trajectory seems to be that of a narrow defeat after Pablo Barrios gave his side a 29th-minute lead. However, Provedel continued to loiter in the box before leaping to glance a Luis Alberto cross past his opposite number Ivo Grbic.
In Champions League’s history, Provedel’s goal was the sixth by a goalkeeper and only the second from open play, after Standard Liege’s Sinan Bolat’s goal against AZ Alkmaar in 2009.
In Group G, RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko scored in injury time to seal a 3-1 victory against Young Boys.
Barcelona’s João Félix dominated Royal Antwerp with two goals and an assist leading to a 5-0 home win in Group H.
In Hamburg, two goals from Galeno aided FC Porto to start their Group H campaign with a 3-1 victory against Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Group F campaign started scoring from the penalty spot as Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappé kicked off with a 2-0 victory against Borussia Dortmund.
