Carlos Yulo and Chloe San Jose Arrive as Chucky and Tiffany

Olympian Carlos Yulo and Chloe San Jose Arrive in Chucky and Tiffany Costumes at Sparkle Spell: Shake, Rattle, and Ball

Filipino gymnast and two-time 2024 Paris Olympics gold medalist Carlos Yulo and his girlfriend, socialite and influencer Chloe San Jose, were spotted dressing up as the killer dolls Chucky Ray and Tiffany Valentine for a Halloween ball in Manila’s premier CBD.

In a video by lifestyle media outlet When in Manila, Yulo and San Jose posed for photographers and reporters on the black carpet of the event.

It is understood that the couple attended Sparkle GMA Artist Center’s Halloween event, “Sparkle Spell: Shake, Rattle, and Ball,” Wednesday night (Oct. 30) at Space at One Ayala in Makati, Metro Manila’s financial district.

Celebrities dressed up in whimsical, circus-like scary costumes for this year’s ball in line with its “Cirque” theme.

Reactions to Killer Doll Cosplay

Many in the comments section of the black carpet video on Facebook received mixed responses from social media users.

Some made satiric statements regarding Yulo’s estranged mother, Angelica, who previously hit the headlines for her alleged statements disregarding her son’s double Olympic gold win in Paris.

“Please also invite Chucky’s mom,” one user said in Tagalog, referring to Yulo’s costume.

Users also praised San Jose for her scary but stunning look as Tiffany, known as “The Bride of Chucky.”

“In fairness, Chloe’s make-up is effortless,” another user noticed.

“Get married already,” a third quipped, referring to the couple’s intentions to get married. “Don’t let that wedding gown go to waste.”

Meanwhile, a user commented that Yulo and San Jose should have cosplayed as Krillin and Android 18 from the Dragon Ball franchise.

Many of the attending celebrities came from Sparkle or affiliated with GMA Network in some capacity, but some personalities from rival network ABS-CBN also attended, such as Andrea Brillantes, Jane de Leon, and Donny Pangilinan.

Pangilinan was dressed up as Frankenstein’s monster, but his on-screen partner, Belle Mariano, was absent.
