Carlos Yulo and Aira Villegas Are the Closing Ceremony Flag Bearers
Olympic gymnast and gold medalist Carlos Yulo and first-time medalist Aira Villegas will be the Philippines’ closing ceremony flag bearers in Paris on Sunday, Aug. 11. The Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) confirmed this on Saturday, Aug. 10.
Yulo has been one of the highlights of Paris Olympics 2024. Aside from nailing the floor exercise with an average of 15.116 points, claiming the top prize, he reigned men’s artistic gymnastics vault final at the Bercy Arena on Aug. 4. The Filipino gymnast became the Philippines’ first double Olympic gold medalist.
Villegas, a new face of Filipina boxer, bagged bronze in the 50-kilogram category.
