Grandpa Mathers! Eminem Discovers Daughter Hailie Jade is Pregnant
Marshall Mathers, more popularly known as the rapper Eminem, released the music video for his track “Temporary” on Oct. 3, highlighting his relationship with his often-cited daughter, Hailie Jade.
At the end of the music video, it was revealed that the younger Mathers told her father that she was pregnant with her first child with husband Evan McClintock.
The McClintocks also announced the pregnancy on Hailie’s Instagram account.
“[M]om & dad est. 2025,” the caption wrote.

Eminem’s Girl Dad Side
The song, which came from the recently released album The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grace), was hinted as a continuation or resolution to the early 2000s track “Mockingbird,” which also had the similar theme of a father’s love for his daughter, especially after Eminem’s divorce from his ex-wife Kim Scott. But in the case of “Temporary,” the older Mathers wrote the lyrics in a posthumous manner in line with the new album’s theme.
According to Rolling Stone, Eminem promoted the album as a way of killing off the Slim Shady alter ego, which was equal parts hilarious and controversial.
On the other hand, Hailie is paving a path of her own as the host of the podcast “Just a Little Shady,” which directly references her father’s musical character.
The music video mainly focused on video and photo archives of Eminem and Hailie, as well as scenes from the latter’s wedding, which happened earlier this year. In particular, the video showed Eminem visibly emotional upon seeing his daughter wearing her wedding dress prior to the wedding and at the ceremony and reception afterwards.
Eminem Becomes a Grandfather
Most of the comments in the “Temporary” music video on YouTube and on Hailey’s latest podcast episode congratulated the Mathers father-and-daughter duo on the announcement.
The majority sentiment pointed out that Eminem succeeded in becoming a good father to Hailie despite having a broken experience with his parents. They wished him the best in becoming a grandfather.
Many of the comments congratulating Eminem further shared they cried with the general theme of the track and music video.
Others also claimed the older Mathers was one of the rare living examples of celebrities being good people outside their professions, especially after the predatory allegations surrounding Sean “Diddy” Combs and the back-and-forth beef between Drake Graham and Kendrick Lamar.
