WWE King and Queen of the Ring: Triple H Announces Tournament Prize
The 2024 King and Queen of the Ring live event is just around the corner! The excitement is surely heating up in Saudi Arabia.
Both a King of the Ring and a Queen of the Ring will be crowned this weekend as the finals of both tournaments will take place during the event. While being the King and Queen of the Ring is already an honor on its own, the winners will get a prize that will make their wins worthwhile.
World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Chief Content Officer (CCO) Paul “Triple H” Levesque has announced that the winners will receive a world championship match at this year’s SummerSlam.
Triple H Announces WWE King and Queen of the Ring Prize
The announcement was made during a WWE Experience attraction held in Saudi Arabi ahead of the live event this weekend. Triple H likewise posted about his announcement on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
“The stakes just got even higher,” the CCO said in his tweet.
It should be noted, however, that the winners cannot challenge any champion of his or her choosing. The winner can only go for the world champion in his or her respective brand. For example, if the King of the Ring winner is from Raw, then he can only challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship.
The winner, therefore, is not allowed to challenge for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Who Will Compete in the Finals?
As of press time, the final competitors for both tournaments have yet to be finalized. This is due to the fact that there are still semi-final matches waiting to take place on the May 24 edition of Smackdown.
For the men’s tournament, Gunther will take on either Randy Orton or Tama Tonga. Gunther previously beat Jey Uso to reach the finals. As for the women, Lyra Valkyria will go one-on-one against either Nia Jax or Bianca Belair. Valkyria previously defeated Iyo Sky to qualify for the finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament.
