‘The Crown’ Announces Two-Part Sixth and Final Season
The Crown, the Netflix series the chronicled the reign of the late Queen Elizabeth II, has announced that it will have a two-part final season. The first part of the season will air on November 16. The second part, on the other hand, will air on December 14.
The last season will be the critically acclaimed series’ sixth season and the second that will star Imelda Staunton as the Queen.
‘The Crown’ Season Six
According to a report by People, the first part will have a total of four episodes. It will focus on the relationship of Diana, Princess of Wales, and Dodi Fayed.
On the other hand, the second part will have a total of six episodes. This part will focus on the current Prince of Wales, Prince William, as well as an ageing Queen Elizabeth II. Fans will be excited to find out that Kate Middleton will feature, played by Meg Bellamy. Ed McVey takes on the role of Prince William.
Elizabeth Debicki and Dominic West returns as Princess Diana and then-Prince of Wales, Prince Charles (now King Charles III), respectively. Jonathan Pryce and Lesley Manville also return to reprise their roles the late Prince Philip and Princess Margaret, respectively as well.
Season Six Trailer
Netflix has also released a short date announcement trailer that features an appearance by Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II. Her voice likewise features in the voice over, along with Claire Foy’s and Olivia Colman’s.
Claire Foy played the young queen in seasons one and two. Olivia Colman, on the other hand, played Queen Elizabeth II in seasons three and four.
